Rental guarantee release
Guidelines to follow in the event of using the rental guarantee during termination of your housing lease.
-
Notify SwissCaution of your new address by sending an e-mail to or by fax to 0848 841 850, indicating the file number that appears on your rental guarantee certificate.
-
Following the departure inventory of the premises, and if damage exceeding normal usage is established by the real estate agency and yourself, contact your Civil Responsiblity insurance in order to declare the accident; the insurance company will then estimate the amount of the damage they will cover.
-
By signing the original rental guarantee certificate you agree to the amount of damages or unpaid rent noted by your lessor or your real estate agency. In the case of material damages we advise you to make a claim to your Civil Responsibility insurance as indicated above in point 2.
-
Upon receipt of the original signed certificate, SwissCaution will send the amount of the accepted damages to your real estate agency or lessor. You must then reimburse SwissCaution the amount of damages advanced as well as various administrative fees.
-
For this reason and in your interest, do not forget to exercise your rights in terms of your Civil Responsibility insurance.
